On July 31, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., Dr. Rungnapa Pattanawibul, Deputy Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, chaired the workshop “The Power of the New Generation’s Thinking for the REDD+ Strategy”, with Dr. Wicharn Simachaya, Director of the Thailand Environment Institute, giving a welcome speech, along with Ms. Waraporn Hirunwatsiri, Representative of the World Bank, and Ms. Jareerat Petchsom, Actress and Environmental Ambassador, adding positive energy on the topic of “The Action of the New Generation for Forest Conservation, Helping the World, We Can Do It” via the online Zoom program. Today’s workshop aimed to exchange knowledge on the mechanisms for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the forest sector and brainstorming on the draft REDD+ strategy of the country from representatives and members of the youth network group, as well as disseminating knowledge and encouraging youth to be aware of the conservation of forest resources, natural resources and the environment, the importance of reducing global warming, and preparing to cope with and prevent problems that may arise.
