The proposed management structure of the SIS in Thailand encompasses the following roles and responsibilities:
Data collection
Data for inclusion in the SIS will be collected and contributed by key agencies and organizations identified as owners of the data.
Coordination and management of information
This will be the role of key responsible agencies such as the REDD+ Office. They will liaise with the data providers, develop a central data sharing and grievance platform, and coordinate with relevant working groups.
Information compilation and analysis
The REDD+ Office will coordinate data compilation and analysis with the ad hoc SIS Working Group. This group consists of representative from key data providers from both government and non-governmental organizations.
Validation and approval of information
This will be the role of national Technical Working Group on Social and Environmental Impact Assessment under REDD+ and/or other technical working groups within relevant forestry programs.
Reporting and dissemination of information
In addition to sharing information online via the SIS information sharing platform, reports such as periodic Summaries of Information (SoI) to the UNFCCC will be led by the REDD+ Office, with the guidance of the national UNFCCC focal point like ONEP.
